Local Specialist Palliative Care Teams

Specialist palliative care services within Central Norfolk are largely provided by two multi-disciplinary teams. They are:

• The Priscilla Bacon Centre for Specialist Palliative Care Services which provides specialist advice and support for those patients within the community setting.  It incorporates Priscilla Bacon Lodge (the Specialist Palliative Care Inpatient Unit) and The Rowan Centre Specialist Palliative Care Day Unit.
• The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Specialist Palliative Care Team provides specialist advice and support for those patients within the hospital setting.

Specialist palliative care teams offer different levels of intervention to meet the many needs of individual patients and their carers at various points in their illness, from diagnosis through treatment, recurrent disease and into bereavement.
