How Can You Help?

Volunteers make a vital contribution to the work of our team. Their input enhances the quality of the services provided and the comfort of patients. Volunteers bring the gift of time and friendship - in return they have the satisfaction of doing a worthwhile job, making new friends and learning fresh skills.

Volunteers have been part of the team at The Priscilla Bacon Centre since it opened in 1979. Today there are nearly 150 volunteers from a variety of backgrounds contributing a wide range of skills and experience. We have a number of volunteers who are presently students whilst some gain valuable experience before training as doctors, nurses or allied health professionals. Other individuals offer their free time and experience to help the patients and loved ones at the Centre. The volunteer team assists the staff team in providing and maintaining the high standards of individualised patient care.
